My first idea, make a water balloon that can be played with indoors! Don't worry, I'm not talking about water fights in the living room. The idea is to keep the water IN the balloon. I took a regular sized air balloon, poured a little water in it without any pressure build-up (don't attach to the faucet), then blew in just enough air to make it about the size of a fist or mango. And there you go! Something to peak your child's interest for a time. By using a regular sized balloon that is not blown up all the way, it turns out it's sturdy enough to withstand my child's tosses and hitting the floor and walls through-out the house. And in the event that it does decide to bust open at some point, there is only a little bit of water in it and is nothing I need to worry about, other than the thrill will have ended.
